Kay was born in India and taught in Ceylon before becoming the wife of a military chaplain spending many years in Germany and Hong Kong.

I am Patrick Chapman's aunt. I lived alone in Wensleydale until I became ill, at which point Patrick and Susannah invited me to stay with them. They have looked after me ever since.

They are marvellously kind.
