Peter & Gay Strutt

Gay was brought up at Stutton Hall, the younger daughter of Clavering and Evelyn Fison, and has spent most of her life in Stutton apart from a period 1953 1969 when she and Peter lived in Bentley. She enjoys painting the landscape around Stutton, the estuary and the boats. She was a JP for Suffolk for 16 years and involved variously with Stutton Primary School and the Bakers Alms Houses.

Peter was brought up in Nottinghamshire and, during the war, served as an officer in the Coldstream Guards in an infantry battalion of the Guards Arnoured Division. After the war, he came to Suffolk to work in Tollemache Brewery (later Tollemache & Cobbold Brewery). His mother was a Tollemache the family is commemorated In Stutton Church. He was Chairman of the New Stutton Community Hall Project and is a member of the Royal British Legion. He has always been a very keen gardener and enjoys shooting. He keeps hens and bantams for eggs and pleasure!

They have four children and currently 15 grandchildren, seven of whom live in Stutton.
