In 1988, our son, Steve, married Louise Fryer, Daughter of Dr Peter Fryer of the Holbrook Joint Practice, and Ida Fryer, who was to become Reverend Fryer. We often would visit Steve and Louise at Utopia to help with the DIY restoration and soon began to get to know some of the inhabitants and to grow fond of Stutton.
What luck when Bay Tree Farm came on the market! This was exactly the place we would have chosen to live had Stutton ever been contemplated as our future home. We acted immediately and, before long, found ourselves part of the local scene joining in village activities, taming the vegetable plot and selling surplus produce, renovating the outbuildings, enjoying friendship, lack of hassle and being near the family, and never once regretting that rather sudden decision to move from Hillingdon four years ago.
We also have a married daughter living in Shropshire and another grandson there.
