Ida and Peter Fryer moved to Stutton from Freston in 1965, 5 years after Peter had joined the medical practice based in Holbrook. Peter qualified at Charing Cross Hospital and after 3 years in London, opted for rural practice. He is now a qualified medical acupuncturist.
They have two sons and a daughter:

A Scouter and train enthusiast who is a Travel Centre Supervisor at Ipswich Station, and has returned to live with them. He enjoys Carpet Bowls and is currently Chairman of the Community Hall Committee; |

For many years Peter sailed a Royal Harwich One design and his interests include British stamps, watercolour painting and antiques.
Ida is an English graduate who worked at London University library, and has been involved in most village activities, being a founder-member of the Local History Group. In 1995 she became Stutton's first Local Ordained Minister and first woman priest at St Peter's Church, and derives quiet satisfaction from the knowledge that The Grove House was originally built in 1859 for the then curate.
