John and Penny Fairrie, Fenella & Michael

Address Holly Farm,
Bentley Lane,
Stutton.

We bought Holly Farm in 1972 from Cmdr Bumell-Nugent.  We moved in that year with Fenella then aged 2 years.  Our second daughter Kate, born the same year, died in infancy, and Michael was born in 1974.

We have very much enjoyed being part of Stutton village and our location here on the Peninsula and many of our interests have been connected with the farm the rivers and the countryside in general.

Holly Farm was established as a PYO soft fruit farm in 1980 and has expanded to use every possible part of its acreage.  Tunnels were added progressively in the 1980's to supply strawberries to the supermarkets.  The fruit growing has been done in conjunction with running a garden landscaping business and over the years we have become the only family left in Stutton farming its own land.

During these busy years we have been active members of the church community and of the wider village and Penny has been on the PCC and a Governor at Stutton School.  We feel blessed to have had St Peter's as our Church and Stutton as our home.
