David and Nelia Duncan

Address The Ancient House,
Lower street,
Stutton,
Suffolk.

Prior to moving to Stutton in September, 1998, David and Nelia Duncan had lived for many years in Australia, emigrating in 1966 to New South Wales.

Nelia said:

"We returned to Essex for a couple of years and then back to Queensland, Australia for several years.  Whilst there we lived in the bush designing and building our own home.  We have moved many times and I had lots of adventures before buying the in Lower Street.

"We fell in love with this lovely old house at first sight but, as always, love was blind and we were not aware, at the time, just how much renovation work was needed.  Three years later, the hard work is practically complete and we have both thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

"We both enjoy living in this friendly village and we have made many friends.  We both lead very busy lives but we have co-founded Stutton Social Club, which is proving to be a great success.  We participate in many village activities as time allows and expect that the lovely ancient church of Stutton is at the heart of village life.  Although not regular churchgoers, we are more than happy to make a contribution towards the new Millennium Window and hope that the window will bring pleasure, and the Church solace, peace and comfort for generations to come."
