Ron & Jill Cook

For many years Ron has been a key member of Stutton community, performing vital work with most of the village organisations.

He has been a Babergh District Councillor from 1973 to 1976 and from 1979 to 1998, attracting support from a wider spectrum than just his own party.

His main council interest is housing and he has been Chairman of the Housing Committee for 12 years. During this time he has overseen the installation of central heating in housing for the elderly and building 12 bungalows in Stutton.

He is a member of Stutton Parish Council and was Chairman for many years. He has been Secretary of Stutton Alms Houses and is now Standard Bearer for the British Legion here.

He has been a governor of Stutton School, Holbrook High School and Woolverstone ??? His first wife, Ellen, died in 1977 and he married Jill in 1985.

Jill is also a member of Stutton British Legion and is a collector for several charities. She is a member of both St Peter's Church and the Methodist Chapel where she was secretary for many years.





Ron and Jill are keen walkers and are to be seen striding the paths around the village every day in all weathers. They are collectors for Stutton Community Council and deliverers for Stutton Roundabout.
