Mrs Jane Clack

Address 1 Catts Close,
Stutton,
Suffolk.

Alan and I bought Bay Tree Farm in December, 1953. The eleven acres of land and the house had been neglected and were in a very bad state.

With us came Caroline, aged three, and Joanna, one year old. Jonathan was to come the following spring.

We started an organically run smallholding and kept hens and Chinese geese. Alan very soon became involved in the village and its various organisations.

The three children went to school at Stutton and Holbrook and all three sang in the church choir.  Caroline and Joanna live in Australia, Jonathan lives in France and he and Christine have a son, Samuel, and daughter Joanna.

In the seventies, we began to run down the smallholding and Alan became a schoolteacher.

On retiring, Alan and I spent several years travelling round the world.

I am keenly involved with St Peter's Church and was a member of the Parochial Church Council for many years.

We moved to Catts Close in 1996, shortly before Alan died.
