In 1971 we bought a plot of land in Stutton, built our house upon it and eventually moved to it in 1974. At that time we were commuting to our business in Epping but in 1978 we moved it to Stutton. The business eventually outgrew our premises so it again was moved to an industrial unit in Manningtree where it still runs under new ownership.

We both retired from it in 1995.

Eric I started my working life in the laboratories at May & Baker Ltd., transferred to the commercial side, moved to Halex and then to Ilford Ltd working on the development of X-ray film processing machines. In 1968 Hilda and I started our business in Epping.	Hilda Until we started our business I worked in a shipping company in the city.
