Confirmation
Sunday October 4th 2009 |

“You all have something to bring with you” That
was the message from Bishop Nigel on Sunday evening as eleven candidates
were confirmed at a lively and enjoyable service at Stowmarket. Every Christian member brings a gift into the church that is
unique to them. It is worth
all of us reflecting on what it is we do and can give in the service of
Christ.
There
were in all six candidates from the Great Finborough benefice:
Lesley Betts Jennifer (Jenny) Hill, Joanna Howell, and Hayley Mayhew, from
Onehouse, Rachel Bergstrom from Great Finborough, and Lesley Wilson from
Buxhall. Finally,
we were joined by two young candidates, William O’Brien from Raydon and
Dominic Torrington from Holton, who were both presented by Roz Leggett,
Reader from the Stratford St Mary benefice, Jesus reminded us that the harvest out there is plentiful, but what we are short of is labourers. Sunday evening was a timely reminder that labourers are still available, they just need a little encouragement. Barbara Bilston October 8th 2009 |
