Family Services
The Pilgrim Eucharist and Family Eucharist are communion services for all ages.
St. Maragret’s, Reydon’s has an inclusive all age service with something for everyone. It’s also the home of Brother Billy, Reydon’s resident monk! (who is a puppet). The Service lasts about 45 minutes and is relaxed, friendly and fun.
St Edmunds, Southwold has services suitable for families every Sunday throughout the year.
On the first, second and fifth Sundays of the month we have a family service at 9:30 a.m. We all start the service together in the Church and then the children (age 3+) and young people leave after 15 minutes for their different groups in the Church Hall whilst the adults stay in the Church. At the end of the service, we all meet up in the Hall for coffee and a chance to chat.
On the third Sunday of every month we have Messy Church (see below for more info) and the fourth Sunday of the month is an all-age Family Communion service, again at 9.30 a.m. We stay altogether in the Church for this service, with an all-age talk.
At all services and during the week, there is a children’s corner at the back of the Church, with colouring activities, jigsaws, book and other toys suitable for those too young to go to groups.
Messy Church at St. Edmund's
On the third Sunday of every month we have Messy Church which is suitable for all ages. We start at 9:00 a.m. with coffee and cake (Ellen’s apple muffins and cheese scones are the stuff of legend) and then the service begins at 9:15 a.m.
Typically we will have a song, a short Bible Story and then break off for 15 minutes of ‘Zone time’. Zones give a chance for everybody to pick something that suits them – perhaps a Bible study, watching a short film, making something out of clay, colouring in, songwriting, just staying put to think about the story, we even barbecued fishfingers once! It’s never the same from one month to the next and we try to ensure that there is something to appeal to every age group. One of the original aims of the service was that it should enable children to get to sports practice, so we ensure that everything is finished by 10:00. Wangford Family Service
Wangford Family Service is held in the Community Centre at 9.30am on the first Sunday of each month, but not always, due to Major Festivals and school holidays. It comprises music, a story, artwork and refreshments.
Walberswick Sunday School
Held in Village Hall Annex every Sunday.
