The registry is the legal office of the diocese. James Hall is a qualified solicitor. He is the registrar and legal secretary to the Bishop. He is assisted by Angela Long, the registry clerk. Stuart Jones is the Diocesan Registrar for Norwich Diocese and operates as deputy registrar for St Edmundsbury & Ipswich.

The work of the registry includes giving legal advice and guidance to clergy, parish officers, boards and councils throughout the diocese.
