The
Discovery Centre offers a variety of services including:
• School visits linked to many areas of the National
Curriculum from Early Years to Post 16
• Special Schools weeks to celebrate the Church’s
year, such as Advent and Lent
• Children’s Church group visits which are organised
to suit individual requirements
• Family Activity Days involving grandparents, parents
and children investigating the life of the Cathedral through
such themes as becoming a Church Detective and travelling
The Journey of Life
• Providing resource materials and advice for teachers,
children’s leaders and clergy to support their work
• Hosting training events for children’s leaders
and clergy.
Our
centre offers a small, safe and stimulating environment
in which both children and adults can discover more about
God, themselves and the world around them. In a recent letter
written by a children’s leader The Discovery Centre
was describes as "a super resource for young people,
their families and leaders, whether church, school or other
groups. It has a very welcoming and friendly feel to it,
as shown by how relaxed and at home the children felt right
from the start”.
