NAPS Project

NAPS is making steady progress, and we give thanks to God for the generous support we receive from the people of St Edmundsbury & Ipswich, because without such support the school could not survive in its early years of development. Your funding in recent months helped us to repair the storm damaged roof in time for the opening of school in January, and while the new (third) classroom block is not yet fully completed, it has progressed to the point where three classes use it daily. Without these capital works, the school could not have retained all of its students from last year, let alone accepted a new intake this year (increasing student numbers from 118 to 140). NAPS was teaching classes from kindergarten to Standard VI last year, and this year it has added Standard VII. This has required putting on two additional teachers, plus replacing Diana Brand (a short-term volunteer with CMS Australia) who left in December after completing her year at NAPS.

. August 09 update - NAPS is going well. Some little problems like...no water supply, - fetching by car! We lack teachers, - they are not sufficient. The third block needs finishing, - to mention a few (current issues). Teachers are working hard, children like studying. Seba feels it is feasible for interested schools/Sunday schools here to write - I have had several new contacts ask.

Please ask the folk at St Edmundsbury & Ipswich to to pray for:
- The full completion of the third classroom block, as soon as possible.
- A stable staff of good teachers, to provide higher quality education.
- The water pipe to the school to be improved, as it bursts often.
- The access road to be improved, so that the school bus can always get through.
- More desks, chairs, books and teaching aids, as the school continues to grow.
- Electricity to be connected, to enable the use of teaching and office equipment.
