Foremost among the aims of Funding the whole Mission of the Church is, to make it easier for everyone to contribute faithfully to God's work in and through His Church. (NE)

Associated aims are:

  • to help people balance the many demands placed on them by their family and other commitments (MID)
  • to inspire those who worship by reminding them of their obligation to respond gratefully to all God's blessings in their lives (NW)
  • to help those in church care better for everyone in the local community by co-ordinating talents, thought, time, treasure (SE)
  • to encourage everyone to do a proper share of the work needed in the total life of the Church and to provide the resources required (SW)

These aims correspond to various approaches / programmes.
Conventional/Basic - This uses a conference to support a presentation at a large gathering, e.g., Alpha Course, often followed by home visits in a set period of time. (NE)

Made to Measure - This involves careful selection of various features from the other four programmes, with special attention paid to consultation and detailed planning. (MID)

Sundays Services - This relies on regular attendees completing a Commitment/ Dedication Card during normal worship times over an agreed number of services. (NW)

House/Discussion - This is based on small meetings in homes often using commercial material, such as Getting, Giving, Going, from the Church Pastoral Aid Society or the Full Measure Project from the Anglican Stewardship Association. (SE)

Written Word - Uses a series of personalised letters sent at set intervals with a return addressed reply card – sometimes using TRIO based material. (SW)
