To offer a Christian perspective to those involved in
education in all schools and colleges across the diocese.

To keep church schools at the centre of the Church’s
mission.

To encourage, support and resource church schools in the
provision of excellent, inclusive and distinctive learning
opportunities for all pupils.

To promote excellence and distinctiveness in Religious
Education and the provision of meaningful Christian Collective
Worship

To ensure that the academic, emotional and physical needs
of all pupils are met and that their spiritual, moral,
social and cultural development is encouraged.
•
To extend to parents the choice of a church school education
for their children, especially at secondary level.
•
To support staff and governors in their responsibilities,
especially in relation to their understanding of the distinctive
nature of a church school.
•
To build partnerships between educational and Christian
communities locally, regionally and internationally.
•
To advise the Bishop and Synod on matters relating to
education.
