DMC
Overview
The
Diocesan Ministry Course promotes the mission of the Diocese by
- Helping
churches develop Accredited (that is Ordained Local Minister,
Reader) and Acknowledged (that is Lay Pastor, Local Evangelist,
Youth or Children’s’ Worker) Local Ministry.
- Helping
church members explore their vocation to Accredited or Acknowledged
Local Ministry
- Training
those individuals selected for Accredited or Acknowledged Local
Ministry on a 3 year course of theological education and ministerial
formation
Developing
Acknowledged and Accredited Local Ministry
Local Ministry
involves the corporate vocation of the local church and the vocation
of particular individuals to specific forms of discipleship and
ministry.

Ministerial
Training
The DMC is
an associate member of the Cambridge Theological Federation. Most
candidates for Acknowledged and Accredited Local Ministry are
trained on a three year part-time course accredited by Anglia
Ruskin University. The training involves working in the local
church, working with other candidates and a tutor in a small Education
Group, and working with DMC staff and academic tutors on Seminar
Days and Residential Weekends.’
