Priest-in-Charge,
St. Peter and St. Paul's Church, Lavenham and St. Mary's Church, Preston
An
Invitation to join us in the United Benefice of Lavenham with Preston
St Mary
Two
beautiful and lively Suffolk villages offer an exciting opportunity to
lead a Christian community in a varied rural benefice. Here is the challenge
to work with a group of people, both traditional and imaginative. with
a potential for Christian Mission, community and environment.
The group of parishes can offer:
| • |
a
stimulating, varied, rural benefice with the opportunity to work
with a variety of traditional and crative, forward thinking people,
who have a real concern for the Christrian Mission, community and
environment. |
• |
a
strong base from which to grow |
| • |
our
experience at shouldering some of the administrative duties and
assisting with work/life balance, so that our priest can concentrate
on the priestly rôle, including pastoral care and visiting |
| • |
support,
care and friendship to the new priest. |
| • |
a
supportive deanery chapter |
| • |
participation
in worship, welcome and service. |
We would like our new priest to:
• |
be a leader whose
personal faith and spirituality encourages us in our own ministry |
| • |
stimulate us by preaching and
teaching |
| • |
lead
us in providing pastoral care to all age groups and to each village
community. |
| • |
be
concerned, involved and visible in both our villages |
| • |
have
liturgical sensitivity for our different Anglican traditions |
| • |
explore,
with the deanery, new ways of 'being church' and alternative models
of ministry. |
