An
Invitation to join us in the United Benefice of Lavenham with
Preston St Mary
Two
beautiful and lively Suffolk villages offer an exciting opportunity
to lead a Christian community in a varied rural benefice. Here
is the challenge to work with a group of people, both traditional
and imaginative. with a potential for Christian Mission, community
and environment.
The group of parishes can offer:
| • |
a
stimulating, varied, rural benefice with the opportunity to
work with a variety of traditioanl and creative, forward thinking
people, who have a real concern for the Christian Mission,
community and environment. |
• |
a
strong base from which to grow |
| • |
our
experience at shouldering some of the administrative duties
and assisting with work/life balance, so that our priest can
concentrate on the priestly rôle, including pastoral
care and visiting |
| • |
support,
care and friendship to the new priest. |
| • |
a
supportive deanery chapter |
| • |
participation
in worship, welcome and service. |
We would like our new priest to:
• |
be a leader
whose personal faith and spirituality encourages us in our
own ministry |
| • |
stimulate
us by preaching and teaching |
| • |
lead
us in providing pastoral care to all age groups and to each
village community. |
| • |
be
concerned, involved and visible in both our villages |
| • |
have liturgical
sensitivity for our different Anglican traditions |
| • |
explore,
with the deanery, new ways of 'being church' and alternative
models of ministry. |
