Rev. Ian Hooper

The Revd Ian Hooper is the Rector of the benefice of the three parishes of Pakenham with Norton and Tostock.  In addition Ian is also Rural Dean of the Ixworth Deanery.

He is married to Avril who is very involved in the life of the church as as administrator and Lay Pastoral Assistant.  Ian and Avril have two grown up married daughters, one living in Suffolk and the other in London.

Ian originates from the West Country where he lived before going to York to train as a teacher.  After nineteen years teaching in West and North West London, Ian felt God’s call to full time stipendiary ministry.  After two years at Theological College in Bristol, he served four years as Assistant Curate in the benefice of Martlesham and Brightwell in Suffolk.  In 1992 he was appointed Rector of the benefice of Pakenham with Norton and Tostock.

The churches in our benefice desire to reach out to all people in our parishes and beyond and to respond to their needs.  By expressing the Good News of the love of God in action we pray that people may be encouraged to live in hope rather than fear and come closer to God through his son, Jesus Christ.

We have a wide variety of services including Common Worship, Prayer Book and more informal services.
