Criminal Records Bureau – renewal of Disclosures
When
the CRB was set up, the House of Bishops’ guidance was that CRB
Disclosures should be renewed every three years. More recently, after
consultation with the CRB and in anticipation of changes to the way that
people work with vulnerable groups, the advice was changed to so that
Disclosures should only be renewed when someone changes jobs. However,
with the delay in introducing the Independent Safeguarding Authority,
fresh guidance has been received from the Archbishop’s Safeguarding
Advisor. Now all Disclosures will be renewed on a five year basis. Therefore,
anyone who has a Disclosure that is over five years old can expect a letter
in due course from Brenda Fradd requesting completion of a fresh application.
New Disclosures will continue to be required if someone is moving posts.
If
you have any questions about this change in policy and how it affects
you or your parish contact Graham Hedger graham@stedmundsbury.anglican.org

ASB thank you
In
last week's E-News Faith Darch of Beccles appealed for copies of ASB.
She wrote this week to say," I have had 2 bulk offers and an individual
one for ASBs, which will be more than adequate. A marvellous recycling
effort! Thank you."
