MUSIC AT HOLY TRINITY

BOYAN ENSEMBLE OF KIEV

Music Director: Bohdan Antkiv

One of the finest vocal ensembles of its time

in a programme of

Sacred Chants and Songs of Ukraine

Since 1992 music lovers have been enthralled by the singing of the Boyan Ensemble, whose 18th consecutive tour of the UK with 24 concerts nationwide will include a performance in Holy Trinity Church Long Melford on 20th November at 7.30 pm.

The Boyan Ensemble is a fully professional choir, its sound is magnificent: deepest bass (perhaps only the Slavs can produce such voices) blending seamlessly with baritone and tenor. In many of the works a single lyrical soprano voice soars above the smooth tones of the men, adding a unique quality that distinguishes this choir from all others.

Tickets: £16 and £14 from Compact Music Sudbury: 01787 881160, or at the door

Postal bookings: 01905 350237

TOURS, CONCERTS AND FESTIVALS

The Events Coordinator is Eileen Morris, who can be reached at 01284 830564

The many activities in our three churches are listed in the monthly magazine, to which we encourage you to subscribe.  Most are listed on the web calendar.

The Church Shop is at the west end of the Church.  It raises money for the church restoration fund, manned by volunteers who are very knowledgeable about the Church and is led by Mrs. Patricia Roberts.   It sells a variety of souvenirs of the church and village, books and pamphlets, religious and secular cards for birthdays and other occasions, brass rubbings and prints, posters and tea towels.  The shop has raised tens of thousands of pounds for the restoration of the church buildings.  Stop at the shop, have a chat and sign the visitors' book.

THE SUNDAY SCHOOL

The Sunday School meets every Sunday morning at 10.30am at St. Catherine's Church.  An average of around 15 children attend together with four or five helpers.  The Leader of the Sunday School is Mrs. Valerie Theobald.
