Welcome to the Church web site for the Benefice of Earl Soham, Cretingham and Ashfield

This website will no longer be updated after December 2007.

Earl Soham Baptist Church info can now be found at http://www.onesuffolk.co.uk/earlsohambc.

The Churchwardens have decided that the Earl Soham, Cretingham and Ashfield magazine (for which this is the website) will no longer be produced, and that the magazine for the benefice of Charsfield with Debach, Monewden, Hoo, Dallinghoo & Letheringham should cover this benefice also from January 2008.

My wife Alison and I have greatly enjoyed producing the magazine and website for nearly ten years, but as two benefices are being combined, only one magazine is needed, and sadly, ours is the one to close. The churchwardens asked the editor of the Charsfield benefice magazine, Ena Lowin, to edit the magazine for the combined benefice. We wish her every success in the future.

We would like to thank the contributors and advertisers who have supported this magazine and website in the past.

Updated: 8 January, 2008 .   Recent updates include Church Services, Baptist Services and other events, letters from the ministry team and Benefice news and articles for December. There may be other changes to services and events for December after the Parish Magazine went to print, and these are shown in red (that is, where the magazine is wrong).

The villages of Ashfield-cum-Thorpe, Cretingham and Earl Soham lie between the towns of Framlingham and Debenham, in Suffolk.  For many years the three Anglican churches have worked and worshiped together, alongside the Baptist church in Earl Soham.  The three Anglican churches form a Benefice in the Loes Deanery, in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich

Church Services and other information for the Anglican Benefice and also for Earl Soham Baptist church are published on on this site (more Baptist church info here). Most of content of the Benefice magazine is here (including letters from church leaders). See “Services and Diary” for information of future Church and village events in any of the three villages.
