Friends of St Peter’s Cretingham
After all the effort of the last few weeks, the Cretingham Open Gardens & Classic Cars event will have taken place on Sunday 13th June. The Committee were keeping their fingers crossed for a fine day. This minute is written just prior to that event (for editorial reasons) so a full report will be included in the next newsletter.
Good news on two fronts, the excellent ‘Sutton Hoo and the Early History of the Deben Valley’ talk - almost £200 was raised from the event and the owner of the mislaid copy of ‘The Reckoning of King Raedwald’ has been traced. Discussions are taking place with Dr Sam Newton to arrange a specialist tour of the Sutton Hoo site.
The next ‘Friends’ event is the talk by Peter Driver on the 12th October 2004 entitled ‘Follies and Oddities in Suffolk’.
As with the Sutton Hoo trip further details will follow but our secretary Pamela Pinner, can always provide details on 01728 685 406.
