Suffolk Historic Churches Trust

Sponsored Bicycle Ride - 13th September 2003: Thank you to all our generous sponsors. The sum raised was £230 (£161 + £69 tax reclaimed). Special thanks to Jane who had not ‘got on a bike for 30 years’! I will be happy to do 10 churches she said so with a gentle shove and 20 churches later... I said well done Jane! I managed 24 but do wish I’d known my limitations!

Magazine Donations

A gentle reminder...

Thank you to all who have kindly made donations towards the running costs of the magazine, it is much appreciated. To those who have not yet got round to handing in their envelopes – please do so as we do desperately need the money to keep the mag going.

Thanks again

Ed

Friends of St Peter's Cretingham

Following quickly after the AGM, the Friends were entertained on 12th November 2003 by Canon David Pitcher in his lecture entitled 'The Framlingham Branch Line'.   This was a fascinating insight into the history of that railway line and the characters that both operated and used it.   It was also disturbing to realise that school children in those days were often as unruly as they are today!   Alan Lettin offered a vote of thanks for an interesting evening, which raised £135 for the funds.

At the Committee meeting on 5th December 2003 the treasurer, Robert Hadley, informed the members that approximately £400 a year is raised from the waste recycling operation situated at the Bell public house car park.   So will villagers please continue to put their paper and glass in this 'bank' to help maintain the village church.
