Earl Soham 100 Club
The 100 Club annual draw took place on 17th October in the Village Hall with an interesting, informative and very popular backcloth provided by Bill Vincent's photographic display of local people, history and events.
Members of the Club were thanked for their continued support which, this year, resulted in the presentation of cheques for £350 to both St Mary's Church and the Village Hall. A good number of the 21 draw prizes were claimed by members in the hall, with the usual mixture of congratualtions, barracking and witty asides. The nibbles and sandwiches received a number of compliments and were accompanied by a glass of wine and the usual good humoured Earl Soham spirit.
Many thanks to all concerned and please remember your 2006-7 subscriptions if you have not already done so.
Happy Christmas!
Keith Weightman, for the Committee
Cretingham 100 Club

Church Sponsored Cycle Ride
Thanks have already been expressed in last month’s issue to all riders, recorders and sponsors, but I am happy to announce that the final sum of money raised was £576, half of which will go to St Mary’s Church, Earl Soham. Congratulations to the cyclists who worked so hard, not only on the day but afterwards in collecting their sponsor monies.
With grateful thanks,
Val Brumfitt, organiser for Earl Soham

Earl Soham W.I.
After a successful Open Meeting in October when members of the public were invited to join us for a talk on “Volcanoes and Earthquakes” we are now looking forward to our Annual Meeting in the Village Hall on Thursday 23rd November at 7:30 p.m.
The reports, financial statement and election of Committee and President will be followed by a fashion parade! Several of our members have been mothers of the bride or groom during the last year and our meeting will be enlivened by these ladies modelling outfits worn on the happy occasion! We look forward to this with great anticipation!
Visitors and new members will be most welcome.

Christmas parcels - St Mary’s Earl Soham
Knowing how much our Harvest gifts were appreciated, we are planning to take some parcels to the Robert Milne Centre for Christmas. These parcels can contain Christmas gifts for the children or the mothers or could be Christmas fare (which does not need to be wrapped). They should be brought to the Carol Service on Sunday 17th December at 6:30pm. The wrapped parcels should be labelled with the age it is suitable for and whether for a boy or girl. Do support this effort to help these needy families and share some of our joy at Christmas.

Combined Service with Charsfield Benefice - Advance Notice
Our Benefice of Earl Soham, Cretingham and Ashfield has been warmly invited to share in the Eucharist Service on Sunday 4th February with the Charsfield Benefice.
The Service will be held at St Mary’s Church, Letheringham, beginning at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome.
Assisted and joint travel arrangements can be made so that we are both kind to one another and the planet. It would be helpful to make known to Churchwardens if you would appreciate a lift or can offer a lift to another.
We look forward to the warmth of fellowship with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
