Earl Soham Children’s Church at St Mary’s 26th February

It was a very chilly morning when we all met together for Children’s Church this month.  As our theme was the Transfiguration, we had a collection of baby photographs and marvelled at the changes that have taken place – and indeed are continuing to take place - within ourselves.  The story of the Transfiguration was told more as a meditative piece, encouraging us all to imagine what it might have been like to have been one of the disciples accompanying Jesus to the top of the mountain.  The children drew their ideas afterwards and the adults thought about listening to Jesus and really hearing what he wants to say to them, in the here and now.  Their words and the children’s pictures were used within our prayer time.

Our family-centred service welcomes all: young or old, quiet or vocal, from Earl Soham and BEYOND!  We look forward to seeing you on the 4th Sunday of every month at 9.30 a.m. offering a friendly face and warm fellowship.

For more details, contact Jo Reed 01728 685794

Earl Soham Christian Aid Collection May 14th - 20th 2006

In recent years, I have co-ordinated the collection of Christian Aid envelopes from households in Earl Soham.  Every year, our loyal collectors have been delighted with the generous amount donated.  Last year £14.8 million was raised nationally to support the charity’s work in over 50 of the World’s poorest countries.  This year, I would be very grateful for some additional help with the task of door-to-door collection – even if you can collect envelopes from a few close neighbours, this would help enormously.

If you think you may be able to help, I would be delighted to hear from you – please ring Jo Reed 685794.
