In the Path of St Botolph
A walk from Iken to Burgh for anyone and everyone to enjoy on the weekend 13th /14th September.
You are invited to join in all, or any part, of this led walk which is divided into 4 phases.
 

Sat 13th        Phase 1
10.15am start from St Botolph Church, IKEN
arriving approx 1.15pm Green Man, TUNSTALL

Sat 13th        Phase 2
2.15pm start from The Green Man, TUNSTALL
arriving approx 5.15pm EYKE  

Sun 14th       Phase 3
10.30am start from The Elephant and Castle, EYKE
 arriving approx 12.30pm The Castle, BREDFIELD  

 Sun 14th      Phase 4
2.15pm start from The Castle, BREDFIELD
arriving Burgh Church in ample time for 
4.30pm Evensong with the Bishop to preach.  

The lunchtime break will be conveniently placed at the local inn, for either picnic lunches or buy lunch at the inn.
As this is the weekend of the Historic Churches Cycle Ride, the churches at Iken, Tunstall, Wantisden, Eyke, Bredfield and Burgh will be open and may be visited en route. (And walkers can be sponsored as well as cyclists!)
Walkers may join for as many or as few of the stages as they wish.

Bishop Nigel will join us on the last leg of the walk and preach at Evensong at Burgh, followed by tea in the schoolroom. 
All donations to the Burgh Schoolroom water project.
All will be welcome.
Donations will be sought to be divided between The Burgh Schoolroom Project [to provide running water etc] and Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

Plant Swap 2008

Thanks to all who turned out to the Burgh Plant Swap on 7th June in the pouring rain, especially to Mary and Terry Rudd who stood outside for most of the morning advising on and identifying plants, to everyone who gave cakes and raffle prizes, to Charles, Sally Pirkis, Karen, Sharon and Gillian who helped in the schoolroom and to everyone who came, with or without plants.

Friday Ringing Practice at Burgh is at 7.20pm for 7.30pm.
Sunday Service ringing at 9.15am, 1st, 3rd and 4th Sundays.

Directions to the church

The church is at the junction of the B1079 (Grundisburgh Road) and Drabs Lane; the entrance is just inside Drabs Lane. If you come to a church not at a junction, it’s probably Clopton; the two are very close together.
Coming from Ipswich, the easiest way is to take the Tuddenham road through Tuddenham, Culpho and Grundisburgh then turn left onto the B1079 at the T-junction coming out of Grundisburgh. The church is on the right (behind the War Memorial) about a mile further on.
From anywhere else, take the A12 towards Woodbridge, then turn west onto the B1079 at the Wyevales roundabout (signposted Grundisburgh and Hasketon). The church is on the right (behind the War Memorial) about 5 miles further on.
